Communicating for Impact : Strengthen your ability to lead and communicate powerfully in different settings—public and private, in person and on Zoom, and through routine or difficult interactions. Discover and sharpen your authentic voice and get your message across.

WHAT YOU WILL LEARN

Through case discussions, in-class simulations, hands-on exercises, and small-group discussions, you will discover and practice the techniques of communicating effectively as a leader—whatever the audience, setting, or message. Topics include:

• Understanding how your audience shapes your rhetoric, even unconsciously
• Using traditional tools: ethos, logos, and pathos
• Applying the TALK framework (Topic, Asking, Levity, and Kindness)
• Asking questions to learn; being interested and not interesting
• Listening effectively by being reflective, responsive, and receptive
• Communicating in a crisis
• Identifying and articulating your core values
• Facilitating and participating in productive and respectful dialogue and debate
• Recognizing and deploying the power of stories— especially your own
• Showing up as your best self
• Owning the room

WHO SHOULD ATTEND

Leaders with at least 5-8 years of experience who want to develop their ability to communicate more effectively. Executives with strategic, operational, or administrative responsibilities.
